#1: The Legacy

Miles Craven, National Security Czar and head of I.O., is finally dead, though his funeral is little more than a mass sigh of relief hidden by honors and accolades. The Senate Intelligence Oversight Committee finds it necessary to investigate Craven's work with Team Seven and Project: Genesis, in order to tie up any loose ends before they choose his successor. They assign the task to Commander Thomas Morgan, an experienced pro in the intelligence game. Morgan is given a file to start with, and begins his research.

Morgan goes to talk to Ben Santini, the acting director of I.O. Before he can actually chat, though, he must accompany Santini and a commando team on a mission to eliminate some radicals. Morgan himself terminates the leader of this movement, proving himself capable of doing whatever must be done. Santini tells him that he doesn't really know anything, and sends him to Alicia Turner in Psi-Ops.

Alicia is busy using psionics to infiltrate foreign governments, a trick which Morgan gets to witness first-hand. Afterward, though, she doesn't really have anything to say about Team 7 or their children. With a little convincing, though, she gives Morgan a name and he leaves again. From the shadows, a certain red-masked person watches...

Senator Killory: "In fact, Craven may have simply aggravated the situation since it now appears that these Gen-active children, the Gen-13, may possibly be more powerful than their fathers.."
