HISTORY

Team 7: a strike force that didn't officially exist, it was made up of the best soldiers from other military units. These men took the most dangerous missions, and succeeded through a combination of training, killer instinct, and guts.

Miles Craven: the evil and ambitious head of I.O. who wanted his own team of SPBs (Super Powered Beings.) The fact that previous experiments to this effect had always ended in grisly failure didn't deter him in the least.

These two elements collided during one fateful mission, when Team 7 was purposely led into a sealed chamber deep within enemy territory. They were exposed to the deadly new Gen-Factor virus, which wrought strange and terrible changes in those who survived. After a substantial recovery and testing period, they now possessed powers unlike anything ever seen before, and they weren't sure what to do with them.

The team members alternately worked for Craven and hid from him, but in the long run, Team 7 finally disbanded for good when the men learned that Craven was after their children. He reasoned that the Gen-Factors of the Team 7 soldiers would be passed on to their progeny. However, certain of the team members went into hiding, erasing Craven's files and relocating as many of the children as possible.

That was fifteen years ago. In the present day, some of these children have manifested super-powers and become the Gen13. Some of them were brainwashed by I.O. and are now villains. Yet others remain anonymous and unknown. And many of the original Team 7 members are still alive and kicking as well, their aging slowed by the Gen-Factor.
